Well, you need to make a character and pretend to be that guy as long as you're roleplaying. At least that's how it works in World Of Warcraft. Though, if you can use existing characters, I'm totally Max Rockatansky.

I actually know a little bit about roleplaying, but considering the fact that all of the roleplays I've been in never lasted more than five pages... I seriously am not the person you should be asking. T.T

I'm a bit of an RP vet. But, i never made the rules. I just play by them...
But, i could make a thread with common rules and a sign up sheet for an RP. A Naruto RP, perhaps? o.o

Well the main stuff is already settled on the RP, such as setting time, and restrictions(I.E no Mary Sue or John Doe) but I am going to let you all branch from there, no set set storyline ya know.

Pony Expresso...never heard of it. Sounds better than making fried foods though XD

But, as far as roleplaying goes, please lets have no godmoding. I hate godmoding. It's so boring.
Life is only made interesting because of it's ups and downs, but mostly because of the downs. If your character faces no hardships, no flaws of personality, nor inevitable weaknesses, then where's the fun in roleplaying?

I was only ever in one RP, and it went quite a ways until most everyone lost intrest.
As far as I can remember the rules were something like,
1. Absolutetly no use of another persons' character in any situation unless previously agreed upon. Few people ever agreed so it rarely came up. That means I couldn't use Foxie's char to help my char to a resolution I wanted to occur.
2. NO GODMODING. Its boring to say the least and authors here, it's really just a way for you to insult your own lack of creativity.
3. This may go along with rule 2, but no ridiculously easy solutions to major problems. That means just cause someones char may be specifically suited to killing... let's day dragons, doesn't mean they will. Hell dragons are crazy beasts, easill capable of killing people. Sacred dragon death beam is neither plausible, nor is it at all fun.
That's just a few i can remember.

I was involved in an RP once too... Hm, let me think...
Some rules included things like no double posts(meaning that there has to be someone else's post between your post and your next post), no RPing with items that you don't 'own'(this probably won't matter with our RP), no godmoding unless you're a god(obviously), no harrassing other RPers(I doubt any of you will; you all seem so nice. XD), no using other RPer's characters(like what you said, Qwiksilva), and no above PG-13 language(or content XD).
Of course, with our RP, things will most likely be different from what I'm used to. And, Akito, if you are planning to keep the RP somewhat kid friendly(I think the youngest person that I've seen on this site so far is 14), you'll probably have to make sure that the RPers actually stick to the rules. (Yay for Moderators! You could actually have a real job now!)
You could have like a warning system, like, first offense is a verbal warning, second is a verbal warning and a temporary suspension from the thread, and then the third could be something like be banned from it.
Hey, Akito, if you need help with the rules, email me or something. (Or better yet, I'll sign on to AIM for the first time in, oh, forever...) The RP I was involved in was really specific and organized so I have a few ideas what the rules should be.

Well, not so much as "an RP" as I was simply a member of a massive RP site. It was like... wow, like six years ago. XD
But, yeah, it was Everbane. It was neat because it was set in a sort of middle ages/fantasy world(since we all know fantasy is much better in the middle ages XD) and all you had to do is make a post and, once someone replied, you'd just go on from there.
Everbane was sort of my pre-fanfiction experience, so I think it was rather helpful as a learning experience. I got to interact with writers(ones that were a lot better than me -_-) and I learned from them.
...And it was fun too. XD
Hm... I wonder if Everbane is still around...
